If you are struggling to make it through the day, try incorporating some of the tips from WebMD into your daily routine. Here are eight ways to boost your energy level:
1. Eat more almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, whole grains, or fish to boost your magnesium intake. Avoid simple sugars.
2. Go for a Walk! Even if you have only 5-10 minutes…a little movement goes a long way.
3. Take a Power Nap - Studies show 60 minute naps can improve our ability to retain information.
4. Don’t Skip Meals and Snack Often - Eating large meals or skipping meals messes up your metabolism and leaves you feeling exhausted rather than energized.
5. Reduce Stress and Deal with Anger - Focus on the good in your life. If something didn’t workout (like a relationship) then move on. Don’t waste energy on those who never cared about you in the first place.
6. Drink More Water, Less Alcohol - This is a no brainer. Alcohol dehydrates your body and makes you feel lethargic, depressed, etc… A glass of cold water will wake you up!
7. Have a Latte - Pair caffeine with protein and you have a win-win situation.
8. Check your Thyroid - If you’ve tried everything and you’re still feeling tired, go to your doctor and get your thyroid checked.
